We encourage students to explore the external scholarships offered by organizations, private sources, employers, religious groups, and professional associations. Below are some of the free scholarship search engines as well as external organizations offering scholarship opportunities.

Many employers offer partial or full financial support for employees pursuing further education. Check with your manager or HR representative.

Fulbright Scholar Program |
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards in more than 130 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects around the world. College and university faculty, as well as artists and professionals from a wide range of fields can join over 400,000 Fulbrighters who have come away with enhanced skills, new connections and greater mutual understanding. Harold & Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation |
The Foundation awards approximately 60-70 scholarships annually. Since 2014, 175 U.S. Veterans have received scholarship awards with over 20 of them having earned a Combat Infantryman Badge. Also, 231 students pursuing a marketing major have received scholarships, and twenty research faculty have received grants to pursue research aimed at furthering knowledge about marketing. In total, the Foundation has awarded over $450,000 in scholarships and grants. |

Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans |
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans program honors the contributions of immigrants and children of immigrants to the United States. Each year, we invest in the graduate education of 30 New Americans—immigrants and children of immigrants—who are poised to make significant contributions to US society, culture or their academic field. United Negro College Fund (UNCF) |
UNCF manages various scholarship programs and each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documentation. To apply for a UNCF scholarship, you must apply through the on-line application process. As many of the UNCF scholarships require that the scholarship recipient apply for Federal Student Aid, it is recommended that applicants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
