
Amy Vinson
Biography
Dr. Amy Ogburn (Vinson) is a seasoned academic and clinician with over two decades of experience in the field of speech-language pathology. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Auburn University, followed by a Ph.D. from the University of South Alabama. Her areas of expertise are centered around medical speech-language pathology, with a particular focus on adult dysphagia, voice and resonance disorders, motor speech disorders, and acquired disorders of language and cognition.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ogburn/Vinson has been committed to both education and research. She spent 14 years as a professor at Auburn University Montgomery before transitioning to Faulkner University, where she served as Clinic Director for 4 years and has been Program Director for the last 3 years. Dr. Ogburn/Vinson has presented her research at numerous state, national, and international conventions, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in her field.
Outside of academia, Dr. Ogburn/Vinson is a proud mother of four children, ranging in age from 8 to 18, and enjoys the company of three dogs. With a passion for both her family and her work, she continues to make a significant impact in the field of speech-language pathology.
